Rum Punch

Rum Punch started in the 17th century Caribbean, mixing fresh fruits and rum. Sailors and islanders loved it, traditionally made with rum, pineapple and orange juices, sugar, and spices. As time passed, different regions added their own ingredients. Today, it represents tropical relaxation and celebrations, capturing the spirit of the islands.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ ounces light rum

  • 1 ¼ ounces dark rum

  • 2 ounces pineapple juice

  • 1 ounce orange juice, freshly squeezed

  • ¾ ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed

  • ½ ounce strawberry syrup or grenadine

  • Garnish: maraschino cherry, pineapple wedge

Preparation:

  1. Add light rum, dark rum, pineapple, orange and lime juices, and grenadine into a shaker with ice, and shake until well-chilled.

  2. Strain into a tall glass over fresh ice.

  3. Garnish with a maraschino and/or pineapple.
