The Pegu Club cocktail, a classic gin drink from the British colonial era in Burma (1824-1948), is named after a club for British expatriates. This sophisticated blend combines gin, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, and bitters, creating a sweet and tart balance. Ingredients:
2 ounces gin
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce orange liqueur
1 dash Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters
Lime twist, for garnish
Preparation:
Combine gin, lime juice, orange liqueur, and bitters in a shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously until well chilled, about 15-20 seconds.
Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with lime twist.
