Jane Darr's Peach Cobbler

The first time Jane made this for me she didn’t tell me how she made it. I was amazed at how the topping melts in your mouth. You have to try this!

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can sliced peaches, drained

  • 2 slices white bread, crust removed and cut into 3 equal strips

  • 1 stick butter

  • 1 ½ cup sugar

  • 2 heaping tablespoons flour

  • 1 egg

  • cinnamon (optional)
     

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.

  2. Put sliced peaches into bottom of 8x8 pan; add cinnamon.

  3. Stir together melted butter, sugar, flour and egg. Pour over bread layer making sure all bread is covered.

  4. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until top looks done.
